It has been a long, long road getting here but, yes we ARE back! Since we shut down the site and closed up the shop shortly after Christmas last year, we’ve been super busy.

Now that we are starting to settle down a bit, we’ve gone through all the hoops to get this operation running again – just in time for Fall! All your favorites, like Pumpkin Patch bath bombs and Apple Cinnamon Sugar Scrubs are available along with plenty of tropical scented items.

As a special offer – just enter coupon code WEREBACK at checkout and you’ll get free shipping on your order. Orders must be placed by October 20th.

How To Start Using Bath Bombs

Bath bombs are a great way to give yourself a luxurious bath experience. They come in many different colors, scents, shapes, and sizes, and are often filled with moisturizing and skin-nourishing oils and butters.

How does one use a bath bomb?

When to use a bath bomb really depends on you and your preferences, mood, or health. Some people choose a bath bomb filled with lavender essential oils to relax before bedtime. Others may choose one filled with eucalyptus oils to reduce sinus congestion. Still others may choose a glittery bath bomb before going out to party for the evening.

Bath bombs come in so many choices that there is certainly one to fill just about any bath time situation. Even kids love the fizzy reactions and playful scents are available to entice the youngsters to TAKE A BATH!

Five easy steps to properly use a bath bomb:

1. Fill the tub with the appropriate amount of water. This is a personal choice for many as some like it hot, and others not so much.

2. Unwrap the bath bomb and gently drop it into the water. It will immediately being to effervesce and release the soothing moisturizing oils and pleasing aromas.

3. Once the bomb has stopped fizzing, you can enter the bath and enjoy as usual.

4. When the bath is completed, you should pat yourself dry so the oils are not wiped away and can be absorbed into the skin.

5. It’s always a good idea to gently clean the bath tub when you are finished. That way any oil residue will be removed and the tub is ready for the next person.

Important Note:

Bath bombs will remain solid as long as they are kept in a dry environment; however, the fresher a bath bomb is, the more it will fizz when you drop it into the bathtub. Older bombs may lose their moisture and dry out if left exposed.

The Worst Advice We’ve Ever Heard About Salt Scrubs!

Salt scrubs have become really popular among beauty-conscious people and are available at lots of retail outlets and spas. Luxurious spa treatments and beauty sessions use these scrubs to bring out younger-looking skin.

Body scrubs are made from bath salts or salts obtained from The Dead Sea or the Himalayas. People using salt scrubs are able to revive healthier skin because of the many benefits they provide.

Salt Scrub Benefits

  • Use of salt scrubs results in exfoliation of dead skin cells that form the upper layer of the skin and they remove that dull and dry look to the skin. Aging causes thickening of the dead skin layer. Salt scrubs exfoliate this layer and bring out layers of younger-looking skin.
  • They improve blood circulation in the skin. Increased blood flow regenerates skin cells and gives a natural glow to the skin.
  • Salt scrubs are known to have antiseptic properties. They are capable of killing skin infection-causing bacteria thereby, relieving pain, inflammation and itching associated with the infection.
  • Scrubbing opens clogged pores that later turn out as skin eruptions. Salt scrubs can be used to prevent acne formation on acne-prone skin, and minimize the formation of acne in people suffering from it.
  • Exfoliation promotes growth of new healthy cells. New cells that are generated tighten the skin surface and reduce wrinkles.
  • Problems like skin discoloration and uneven skin tone are also benefited by use of salt scrubs. Skin problems like eczema and psoriasis can be treated using these scrubs.
  • Oils incorporated in the salt scrub, polish the skin by minimizing the abrasive effect of scrubbing and moisturizing the skin.
  • Massaging with a scrub containing essential oils not only improves the quality of skin, but also provides relaxation.
  • Lastly, one of the most important benefits of salt scrubs is that they are 100% natural.

So, what’s the worst advice we’ve ever heard about using them?

Whatever you do, do NOT use a salt scrub immediately AFTER shaving any area of the body! Yes, we’ve had it recommended and, well, it BURNS! The pores are opened up from shaving and you’ve just subjected your skin to a little cutting fest. Trust me, don’t do this! Otherwise, salt scrubs are great to use just about any other time!

As always, they are great for runners, or anyone with dry feet – but you have to be very careful in the shower as the scrubs do contain oils to restore moisture to the skin.

Are Essential Oils a Good Idea?

Essential oils are all the rage online these days. Bloggers everywhere claim their benefits and odd uses but is this really what Big Pharma doesn’t want you to know? What’s the truth behind essential oils? Do they help? Do they harm? Are they just useless placebos? Are there real health benefits?

Essential oils are also known as volatile oils because they evaporate quickly after they come in contact with oxygen. Essential oils are obtained by water or steam distillation, or by cold pressing (for citrus peel oils). Through this process, the oils inside a plant can be extracted into a highly concentrated form. Oils that are made with chemical processes are not considered true essential oils. Because different essential oils come from different plants, the resulting effectiveness tends to change from plant to plant.

Do Essential Oils help?

There is overwhelming evidence that some essential oils are beneficial. The calming effects of lavender are well known. Adding a just a few drops of lavender to your pillow at night will certainly help you sleep. One of my favorite things is a soak in the tub with a lavender bath bomb shortly before bed. Adding a few drops to a diffuser near the bed will help as well.

Combining essential oils with carrier oils such as waxes, butters, alcohols, or other diluting substances allows you to use the essential oils on your skin. Because they’re so concentrated, if you don’t dilute the oils, you may end up with an unfortunate reaction (and unhappy skin). Many products such as salt and sugar scrubs use coconut oils or shea butter as a carrier and provide real benefits to keep your skin healthy and happy.

Many people suggest using essential oils for other things around the home. Such using lemon oil to remove permanent marker, or Thieves essential oils when making homemade cleaning products. Since these products don’t contain harsh chemicals, and provide excellent cleaning properties, they are much better for the environment and your home

Do they harm? Are they just useless placebos? Are there real health benefits?

The jury is out on this one for a number of reasons. The pharmaceutical industry uses a number of essential oils in medications however, since the oils are a naturally occurring things, the scientific community hasn’t dedicated much research to their uses on humans. For the most part, it is safe to say that many essential oils should not be ingested with foods or as a capsule. Most essential oils should never be used undiluted on the skin and should only be used with a carrier.
